Best Time to Visit

Peak Season (October-November): Post-monsoon brings crystal clear skies and stable thermals. This is the ideal time with the best visibility of the Himalayan range. Temperatures are comfortable and winds are predictable.

Spring Season (March-May): Another excellent window with good visibility and strong thermals. Rhododendrons bloom across the hills, adding color to your aerial views. Slightly warmer than autumn.

Winter (December-February): Flying is possible on clear days, though mornings can be cold and visibility may be reduced. Shorter flight windows but fewer crowds.

Monsoon (June-September): Generally not recommended due to unpredictable weather, low clouds, and rain. Most operators reduce or suspend services during this period.

How It Works

Pickup & Transfer

Your pilot or driver picks you up from Lakeside Pokhara. The scenic 30-minute drive takes you up the winding road to Sarangkot, with photo opportunities along the way.

Safety Briefing

At the takeoff point, your pilot explains the equipment, demonstrates the running takeoff technique, and answers any questions. You'll be fitted with your harness and helmet.

Takeoff

When conditions are right, you'll run a few steps down the gentle slope. Within seconds, you're airborne, lifted by the thermal currents rising from the valley below.

The Flight

Enjoy 30-45 minutes of pure magic. Your pilot may perform gentle maneuvers if you're comfortable, or you can simply relax and take in the stunning 360° Himalayan views.

Landing

The flight ends with a smooth landing at the designated area near Phewa Lake. Your pilot handles everything — you just need to stay standing for the final few steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is paragliding safe?

Yes, tandem paragliding with a certified pilot is very safe. All pilots in Pokhara are licensed by the Nepal government and carry reserve parachutes. The equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to international standards.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are unfavorable, flights are postponed or rescheduled at no extra cost. Operators monitor conditions continuously and make decisions based on pilot assessment.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for running. Layers are recommended as it's cooler at altitude. Avoid loose scarves or accessories that could get tangled.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes, but we recommend using a secure strap. Many pilots offer GoPro footage for an additional fee, which captures better angles than a handheld camera during flight.

How long is the total experience?

Plan for about 2-3 hours total, including pickup from Lakeside (30 min drive), preparation and briefing (15-20 min), the flight itself (30-45 min), and return to Lakeside.
